CARLA DINOI poses with TEAM SUCCESS and places 5TH at the OPA-GNC LONDON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013

Professional...wife and mother-of-two CARLA DINOI decided to take the plunge and compete in her FIRST bodybuilding show.

She came to TEAM SUCCESS Personal Training because she knew that HEAD TRAINER MARILYN ST. HILL had 10 years experience with bodybuilding shows and the industry.  As well as an extensive knowledge of supplements after managing SND Toronto on Yonge Street for many years.

Carla and Marilyn posed 2-3 times per week.  Along with Carla's EXTRA efforts booking herself in posing seminars and the usual at home practise.

CARLA DINOI is in the RED suit on the end.

TEAM SUCCESS Personal Training client KAT CHHING shows how to set a goal and achieve it!!

"I may have not won a title but I set a goal and reached them so I have already won. It's not about winning or losing. It's about setting goals and reaching your full potential to achieve them. DREAM IT, WISH IT, DO IT! xoxo" (Kat Chhing)

A mother of two...career woman and girl with a dream.  KAT CHHING decided long ago to compete...she just didn't know when.  Her day came after entering the IDFA Amatuer Classic and IDFA Transforrmation Challenge in 2013.

She was really shocked at how "scary" walking on stage in a bodybuilding show can be. However...she conquered her fears...put them aside...and competed in not one (1) but two (2) categories...showing her presence on stage.

WAY TO GO KAT!!  YOU ARE TRULY A WINNER

TEAM SUCCESS client Amanda Wheatle - 53 years old

"I can't believe I'm here."

Alot of times in life...people do things that they never expected to do...and they say to themselves..."I can't believe it." Well..I can believe it!

There are two reasons why I can believe that I've changed my life:

First..I lost my mother 15 months ago to Diabetes. My mother was an inspiration to me my whole life. Strength is a virtue that she passed on to me...and that strength has helped me reach my goals.
Next...dedication/preparation.

I have always been a person who is prepared...in order to stay organized in my life. I also know that when I decide to do something...I do it!

After my mothers death...I realized that I needed to change my lifestyle for the better. I was only getting older. I was 52 years old. I thought to myself...why not be in the best shape of my life...for the rest of my life.

I began training with Master Personal Trainer...Marilyn S. Hill and TEAM SUCCESS Personal Training.

Since then...I HAVE changed my lifestyle. I have lost over 40 pounds and placed 6th in my first bodybuilding show in October 2012.

Here I am today...competing at the IDFA Novice Classic!! A healthy diet and consistant workout routine has made me reach my initial goal and other goals that came along the way.

At 53 years young...I AM in the best shape of my life and I can't think of a better way to honor my mother.

I want to give special thanks to my family and friends for all their support. Ofcourse...my trainer and friend Marilyn St. Hill and TEAM SUCCESS Personal Training...and my staff at Town Shoes!

7 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Better Health!

7 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Better Health
By: Chelsea Smith/Psychiatry Student
http://www.howtobecomeapsychiatrist.org/

As this blog has discussed before, motivation and determination are key to getting into shape.  Whether looking to eat better, exercise more, or other health goals, motivation can be difficult.  To help you get more determined, we have gathered just seven ways to motivate yourself to better health!

1. Vanity – It may be a sin, but it can also be a huge motivator.  If you don't like the way your body looks, try picturing yourself with a slimmer waistline or some muscle tone.  Best of all, with a regular workout routine, the results can even be better than what you visualized.

2. Money – Think workout sessions with a trainer are too expensive?  They are cheaper than heart disease, medications, or even a trip to the doctor. People who exercise regularly can have a better heart rate, lower weight, more energy, and even a boosted immune system.

3. Better clothes – If your waistline is taking a move for the worse, a new wardrobe might be in order.  It only takes a few pounds of weight gain, depending on how tall you are, to outgrow your favorite pair of jeans. Getting a slim down can help you keep the clothes you want and away from the sweatpants when not sweating.

4. You'll live longer – We've all been told that people who exercise live longer, but where is the proof?  A simple search of Google can give you loads of studies, but we found <a href=”http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsweek/Exercise_and_aging_Can_you_walk_away_from_Father_Time.htm" >this one/a> from Harvard University to be of particular interest.  It showed how you can literally walk away from Father Time with some exercise.

5. No negatives – Did you know that most people who plan to exercise and eat right often have hiccups along the way?  They will skip a trip to the gym or break down and get some fast food.  This is normal.  The important part is to not let it get you down or think that you have failed and shouldn't try anymore.

6. Pattern recognition – Because human beings are creatures of habit, finding motivation to do anything out of our comfort zone from working out to learning a new language can present a unique challenge.  There was even a study reported on by <a href=”http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/06/080626150311.htm" >Science Daily</a> that proves it.  By recognizing that we are not merely getting pumped into doing the healthy thing, but breaking a pattern of not doing the unhealthy thing, can we truly get motivated.

7. Your family – Don't think you're worth taking care of?  Chances are there are many people who feel otherwise.  Your parents, siblings, friends, and most of all, kids, want to see you healthy and would probably wish for that above all else.  So keep your loved ones in mind and all the good times you have ahead as true motivation.

Obesity...The Reality!

QUIT SMOKING TODAY!

The Truth About Quitting

Why stop smoking?

We are all aware of the health risks of smoking.
Many smokers give up not only because of the health risks to themselves, but also to those around them, while others choose to give up in order to save money or to stop smoking from interrupting their daily routines. And some just want to feel better and for their clothes to smell better.

What happens when you quit?

20 minutes: Your blood pressure and pulse rate return to normal
8 hours: Oxygen levels in your blood return to normal.
24 hours: Carbon monoxide has been eliminated from your body. Your lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris.
48 hours: There is no nicotine left in your body. Your ability to taste and smell is greatly improved.
72 hours: Breathing becomes easier. Your bronchial tubes begin to relax and your energy levels increase.
2-12 weeks: Circulation improves throughout the body, making walking and running a whole lot easier.
3-9 months: Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems get better as your lung function is increased by up to 10%.
5 years: Heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.
10 years: Risk of lung cancer falls to half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to same as someone who has never smoked.
